By Carol PorterThe Second Annual National Women’s Equality Day Brunch was held on Sunday, August 10, at the Deer Creek Golf Club, located at 2801 DC Country Club Blvd., Deerfield Beach. The event celebrated ninety-four years of women voting. Rep. Gwyn Clarke-Reed gave an update from the Florida House, and the keynote speaker was Congressman Ted Deutch, who gave an update on the status of ERA legislation in Congress and other issues. Award presentations went to the Presidential Women's Center, the School Board of Broward County, Senator Nan Rich, State Representative Dave Kerner and State Representative Ray Pilon, State Representative Elaine Schwartz and Senator Geraldine Thompson.
