HALL OF FAME VOCALIST & MULTIPLE GRAMMY WINNER TO PERFORM LOCALLY

  By Carol Porter

The only person in history to be a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and the Amateur Radio Hall of Fame is 5-time Grammy and 11-time Dove Award winner Larnelle Harris.  Harris will be in concert on September 13, 2014 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, West Palm beach, Florida. Doors open at 12:30 and show starts at 2:00 PM. Tickets are available at WWW.PBConventioncenter.com/ATENDEES and are available for $20.00 which includes all taxes and Convention center fees.

Harris’ latest recording, Larnelle Live in Nashville, was released in both DVD and CD formats.  The recording features a live concert performance from Harris along with guests Sandi Patty, Steve Green and Steve Amerson.  In addition to singing several of his hit songs, Harris also performs new tunes on the audio and video projects, including a brand-new duet from Harris and Patty. The duo’s previous two duets, “More than Wonderful” and “I’ve Just Seen Jesus,” both won Grammy Awards.  Among other highlights, Harris is joined by Green and Amerson in a special “Three Tenors” performance segment which the trio debuted last year at Carnegie Hall.

In addition to his Grammy and Dove Awards, including being named Male Vocalist of the Year three times by the gospel music industry, Harris has garnered nineteen #1 national radio singles and countless top 10 hits. Songs such as "How Excellent Is Thy Name," "I Miss My Time With You," and his signature song, "Amen," are now considered modern gospel classics.

From the White House to the 38th Parallel, Larnelle has impacted audiences across the globe with his music.   He was the first gospel artist to perform inside the Kremlin after the fall of the Soviet Union.  He is one of a handful of celebrities to receive the Ad Council's Silver Bell Award for Distinguished Public Service in recognition of his song "Mighty Spirit" as the theme song for the longest-running Public Service Announcement in television history.

In addition to his musical career, Harris has been an avid amateur radio operator for over 20 years. He was featured in CQ Magazine, the leading independent magazine of amateur radio enthusiasts.  Harris is now a member of the First Class Operator’s Club, an invitation-only group that is limited to 500 people worldwide.  Invitees must demonstrate the ability to send and receive morse code at a minimum of 25 words per minute, demonstrate regular activity on the amateur frequency bands, and show impeccable levels of courtesy on the air.

Married to wife Cynthia (a.k.a. Mitzy) for over 40 years, Harris continues to tour worldwide, recently singing for a gathering of the United Nations Ambassadors. In addition to his numerous solo dates, Harris also travels with various tours including the Gaither Homecoming tour, the God Of All Glory Tour, and the Sandi Patty and Friends tour, the latter of which CCM Magazine recently reviewed and described Harris as having a “larger-than-life stage presence with impeccable vocal prowess.”   Harris has appeared on several national TV shows and networks including  Gaither Homecoming; Life Today With James Robison; CNN; TNN; The 700 Club; Billy Graham Crusades; Hour Of Power; and his holiday classic Larnelle Christmas Special, among others.

World-renowned for his majestic tenor voice, one reviewer aptly declared: "Larnelle could sing the phone book and inspire you!"  Tickets for the September 13th concert are $20.00 in advance; $25.00 at the door.  For more information call David Knapp at 561-301-2961 or email at pastcommander11@gmail.com
