The Honorable Sonia Sotomayor In Palm Beach

The Honorable Sonia Sotomayor, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, was the keynote speaker at the Monday, February 2, luncheon for the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach. The luncheon was a joint meeting of the Forum Club and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Sotomayor became the first Hispanic justice and the third woman to serve on the Supreme Court when she was chosen by President Barack Obama to replace retiring Justice David Souter. Sotomayor spoke about a number of issues at the luncheon today, focusing on her background and how important the law is to her and her fellow justices. Sotomayor also spoke about her feelings about cameras in the court room, and how she had revised her opinion on them, and was no longer in support of them.
