ROMEO SANTOS, ENRIQUE IGLESIAS, J BALVIN, AND MARC ANTHONY TOP THE LIST OF FINALISTS FOR THE BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS LIVE ON TELEMUNDO APRIL 30

A 21-time finalist this year, Romeo Santos leads the field closely followed by 19-time finalist Enrique Iglesias; both singers eclipsing the previous record for most finalist mentions
Billboard and Telemundo announced today the finalists for the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm® during a press conference at the Trump National Hotel in Doral, Florida, which was broadcast live on the network’s morning show Un Nuevo Dia and streamed live through telemundo.com/entretenimiento/premios-billboard.  The category of Social Artist of the Year was announced through Telemundo’s social media channels; while the categories ofDigital Song of the Year and Streaming Song of the Year were announced before the press conference through Telemundo.com/PremiosBillboard- the official website of the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm®, where the complete list of finalists, in addition to exclusive content about this year’s event, can be found.  Topping the list of finalists competing in multiple categories are Romeo Santos (21 entries), Enrique Iglesias (19), J Balvin (12), Marc Anthony (7), Drake (7),  Descemer Bueno (6), Gente de Zona (6), Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda (6), Farruko (6) and Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga (6).  The longest-running and most prestigious awards show in the Latin music world will be produced and broadcast live by Telemundo on Thursday, April 30 at 7pm/6c from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida.  Fans can follow the excitement of the star-studded event on Twitter and Instagram @LatinBillboards and Facebook.com/LatinBillboards, and join the conversation using #Billboards2015.

Romeo Santos “The King of Bachata” enjoyed a stellar year with a sold-out tour that included an unprecedented two-night stint at Yankee Stadium and ended up 2014 atop the music charts.  The prolific singer, songwriter and producer tops the list of finalists this year with 21 entries, vying for 16 awards in major categories, among them: Artist of the Year; Social Artist of the Year; Songwriter of the Year andProducer of the Year.  Santos’ album “Formula, Vol. 2” is up for Top Latin Album of the Year and Tropical Album of the Year.  The hit song “Eres Mía” vies for Hot Latin Song of the YearAirplay Song of the Year;Streaming Song of the Year and Tropical Song of the Year.  The music collaboration with Drake, “Odio,” earned finalist mention in six categories including: Hot Latin Song of the YearHot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal EventAirplay Song of the YearDigital Song of the YearStreaming Song of the Year and Tropical Song of the Year.  His song “Yo También,” featuring Marc Anthony, also competes for Tropical Song of the Year.

World-renowned singer Enrique Iglesias is a 19-time finalist this year competing for 15 awards includingArtist of the YearSocial Artist of the YearTop Latin Albums Artist of the Year, MaleLatin Pop Songs Artist of the Year, SoloLatin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Solo; and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male.  After singing the hit song “Bailando” for the first time on TV at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards, the song became a worldwide phenomenon and quickly reached the top of Hot Latin Songs were it remains for a 39th week.  The song vies for Hot Latin Song of the YearHot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event;Airplay Song of the YearDigital Song of the YearStreaming Song of the Year; and Latin Pop Song of the Year; earning six finalist mentions to Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona who collaborated on the hit song.  Enrique Iglesias’ collaboration with legendary Mexican singer Marco Antonio Solis “El Perdedor” is up for Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal EventDigital Song of the YearStreaming Song of the Year;and Latin Pop Song of the Year.  The album “Sex & Love” competes for Top Latin Album of the Year andLatin Pop Album of the Year.  The very successful concert tour with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull is a finalist for Tour of the Year.

Newcomer Colombian urban star J Balvin had a successful year in the U.S., topping the music charts and becoming a 12-time finalist up for 11 awards including for Artist of the Year, New and Songwriter of the Year.  His collaboration with Farruko, “6 AM,” competes for Hot Latin Song of the YearHot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal EventAirplay Song of the YearDigital Song of the Year; and Latin Rhythm Song of the Year.

Seven-time finalists include Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, and biggest-selling salsa artist of all time,Marc Anthony vying for six awards including Artist of the YearTour of the YearTop Latin Albums Artist of the Year, MaleTropical Songs Artist of the Year, Solo; and Tropical Albums Artist of the Year, Solo.  His song “Flor Pálida” and the collaboration with Romeo Santos “Yo También” are up for Tropical Song of the Year.  In addition, Canadian rapper, songwriter, and actor Drake, featured on Romeo Santos’ “Odio” garners seven entries, including Crossover Artist of the Year and six finalist mentions for the song.

Farruko, Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda, Descemer Bueno, and Gente de Zona are up for six awards this year; while Marco Antonio SolisSantana, and Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga,are up for five awards.  Prince Royce, the late Jenni Rivera, Calibre 50Plan B and Wisin compete for four awards each.  Artists up for three awards include: Ricardo ArjonaCamilaChayanneAlexis & Fidoand Juan Gabriel; while YandelShakiraBanda Los RecoditosRicky MartinEl KomanderCalle 13,Remmy ValenzuelaJuan Luis Guerra, Baby Rasta & Gringo are up for two awards.
